RTV-2 thin layer curing is a common phenomenon, and there are two main reasons for it:
1. In the process of sealant application, when the sealant strip is very thin, cross-linking agent in the colloid is easy to volatilize, resulting in insufficient dosage of cross-linking agent;
2. As the amount of catalyst used in RTV-2 silicone adhesive is less, the content of colloidal catalyst is lower after scraping, resulting in the phenomenon of non-catalytic reaction and back-tack.
There are two main ways to solve this problem:
1. Increase the content of cross-linking agent.
2. Use cross-linking agents with lower activity and larger molecular weight, which can reduce volatilization, also can increase the catalyst content.
